video games

On November 19th, the Nintendo Wii was released. I went with Bento and Other Dave to wait in line to get one. I wasn't planning on getting a Wii, but since I was waiting in line with Bento and OD, I figured I would put my name on the list just in case. I ended up getting a Wii, but later sold it on craigslist. We waited in line with OD's friend Naz, who wrote a much better post about the Wii launch experience here. Since his post is much better than anything I could write, go read that instead.

This is a neat six degrees type thing. I have a video game called Frequency which is a music game, and it has songs from real artists. One of the songs is XLR8R by Orbit. It's pretty good and I'd never heard it before at the time, which was a few years ago when Frequency was somewhat new. Anyway, I've been listening to the Lullabot Drupal podcast lately. It wasn't until the other day that I realized that one of the guys who does the podcast, Jeff Robbins, was in the band Orbit.

This is most likely showing my ignorance to sports, but what is arena football? How is it different from whatever the other kind of football is? Do we really need another EA Sports football video game? There's already the usual Madden and NCAA yearly titles, and at least one "Street" football game (maybe two?). So now there's an arena football title. Are all of those really that different to be individual games? At least EA Sports Arena Football is only $30.
