I'm Giving up Blogging in favor of Tumblelogging
Ok, so instead of continuing to think that I can keep up a blog with real commentary and intelligent new ideas, I'll just call this a tumblelog. By classifying this as a tumblelog, the posts are perfect and on topic. But as a blog, my posts don't make any sense and are incomplete. I had goals for this blog as a blog and I mostly failed, but as a tumblelog, this is a great success.
A tumblelog is a variation of a blog, that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author's creations, discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary.
Using that definition, this is definitely a tumblelog, not a blog. On the other hand, tumblelogs don't normally have comments enabled, so in that regard this is a blog.
It's all about what you call it. Maybe I need to invent a new term for what I'm doing, like rumbletumblebloglog. I invented that. Just do this rumbletumblebloglog Google search. Maybe check in a few months and this will be up there.
If you were wondering, killkaraoke has always been and will always be a journal. Even though we were in the Blogathon, which is for blogs, a journal is entirely different.
