Yeti Olympics

Yeti Olympics is a fun flash game. It takes a little while to get used to the controls but I was entertained for a while. The object is to throw penguins around in five different games. My final score the first time around was about 1002. I'll do better next time. Post your scores as comments to this post if you want. Then I'll try to crush them.

Article about Kingdom of Loathing

Kingdom of Loathing is a lot more popular than I thought. Alex found this article about KOL on news.com. It covers the history of KOL and stuff about its creators along with a lot of other information. This proves it's not a cult.

I got the Sims 2

I got the Sims 2 off of ebay. It's really great so far. I haven't played it for very long though. I'm trying to restrain myself. It seems to have a lot of cool new features and plenty of things to do. Now the sims have lifelong aspirations and fears in addition to their basic needs. One of my sims wants money and the other wants knowledge. Their fears are like getting rejected, fire, or a partner dying. So then if you help them complete their goals and keep them away from their fears you get points to use towards some extra rewards that do weird stuff. One item was a money tree. I think doing the aspirations thing is optional though so you don't have to be restricted to doing them. Oh yeah also the game is in real 3D now so the camera can move around with much more freedom, although I've noticed sometimes the walls don't cut away when they should. I can't wait to try the movie mode. Maybe I'll make some dumb movies and make people watch them. This game should probably tide me over until xmas, or at least until I get my free ipod.

Remember Maniac Mansion for the NES? This group remade the game and improved it. I haven't tried it yet, but this post is to remind me to try it.

Edit: Looks like that link is broken as of March 9, 2005
