Thank you Past Commenters

When I switched my blogging platform over to Drupal, I couldn't get the comments transfered over in some automated or easy way. So, to make up for that, I'll list here some of the people who have left comments in the past and their URLs.

I actually still have all the comments (all 47 of them), but I don't feel like manually adding them back in.

Anyway, thank you everyone for leaving comments on my blog. I'll try really hard to not switch blogging systems on a whim and lose all the comments next time.

Bloglet Mailing List and Karma Voting

I'm trying out this Bloglet service that sends an email each day of what I post. It's not as good as using a real feedreader, but if it's the only thing that gets you to read my blog, then so be it. I just set it up so hopefully it's working. I think it sends an email of all the posts I made during the day. I don't know, I'll just wait and see how it works out. You can subscribe using the textbox on the right. I could do a mailing list where it sends out an email each time I post, but I don't know if that would fill up your inboxes too quickly. Are you more likely to read one long email instead of a bunch of small ones? Well, I don't think they would be that long anyway, I think most of my posts are pretty short and to the point. But not too many people seem to read them now. So maybe you want longer posts? I was also thinking of combining gadgets posts into a long post instead of posting about each gadget, but I haven't read Engadget or Gizmodo in a long time. So I have a lot of catching up to do. Luckily, Bloglines only counts up to the last 200 unread posts, so there will be a lot of posts that I'm missing because I left them unread for too long. That's good because I'll waste less time on those sites. I'll probably also combine video game news into a single post as well.

Oh yeah, I'm also not sure if you guys are getting the commenting and karma voting. The karma voting is that line that says karma for this article and next to it are some links. You vote by clicking on one of those links. ++ means you think the post is very good, -- means you think the post is very bad, and then there's the middle links for in between voting. I'm guessing I shouldn't vote on my own posts, so right now only Mary is voting on posts it seems. Maybe I should try to make the voting system a little more obvious.

And about commenting. You can reply to an article by either clicking on the post title (it's not underlined, maybe I should underline it?) and scrolling down, or clicking on the comments link that's on the posted by line below each post. Then leave me a comment. I'll probably respond. Or if you have your own blog, and you talk about one of my posts, you can send me a trackback so I'll know, but that's a little more complicated.

I guess I need more indications that someone is reading this in order to boost my ego.
