Ends to a Mean

I've been maintaining radio silence for a while so that I wouldn't jinx anything, but now I can finally tell you about the stuff going on in my life. I got a job in Washington, DC, and I got approved for an apartment.

After my first day of work

Here I am after my first day of work. I'm a Web Developer at FierceMarkets. I started last Wednesday and it's going pretty well so far. I get to move in to my apartment around April 1st. So stuff is going great for me. How about you?

Career Pimping

This IHiredJeffClark site has been showing up on a few other blogs. Jeff put up a web site to show off his skills and look for a career. The site looks really impressive. I guess this is one of the first attempts to do a resume site that really got a lot of publicity and was well done. Well, he is getting a Marketing degree so it's probably a good sign that he's getting all this linkage. I wish I would've done something like this. Now if I do it I'll just be a copycat and nobody would link to me. Plus my resume site wouldn't be any good in comparison. Maybe this blog will prove how smart I am and convince someone cool to give me money. But I really doubt it. My posts here are probably seriously hurting my chances of that happening. They're just proving how dumb I am. These posts aren't helping me get any groupies either. I guess the priority should be to get a career first, since the groupies probably won't pay me. So yeah, hey all you people out there reading this, I'm graduating this December with an Information Technology degree from ODU, and I do web site stuff in my spare time, so give me money. Thanks.

I wonder how this will play out for Jeff Clark. I bet if it works for him, five seconds later everyone and their mom will be trying to do that, and it won't work. Just like everyone trying to copy the Million Dollar Home Page phenomenon. I think that's how I know when I hit the big time, when other people start copying me. That would be great. But it probably wouldn't get me any money or fame. It would only get me some glory from the people who remember that I did it first. Yep, I definitely need to start setting trends. Anyway, I'll have to check in on that site in a few weeks.

I apologize to the language sticklers who don't like that I used the word resume without the accent. It's not that I'm ignorant, I'm just too lazy to look up the accent code. It would've broken my chain of thought, and I'm not going back now to fix it.
